Annabel McGilvray is a Sydney-based journalist and editor with more than a decade's experience reporting on current affairs, lifestyle and culture for both national and international publications. She writes regular profiles for The Weekend Australian, contributes the occasional essay to The Monthly and has been writing about architecture and interior design for belle magazine since 2004.

Her writing has also appeared in The Sunday Telegraph, The Courier Mail, Winestate, Voyeur, Vive, The Australian Venture Capital Journal, Ireland's Sunday Business Post and The Moscow Times among others. Go to the clippings page to find a selection of her published work.

In addition, Annabel's portfolio includes a large amount of travel writing from places as far afield as Sfantu Gheorghe on the Black Sea tip of Romania's Danube Delta and the croc-infested aquamarine waters of the Buccaneer Archipelago of Western Australia's Kimberley region and she has given presentations on the benefits and difficulties of freelance travel writing.

Before launching into freelancing, Annabel was at separate times employed as staff reporter on The Australian and sub-editor/ reporter for The Australian Venture Capital Journal and she edited the foreign pages of The Moscow Times. As a result she has extensive experience in both editorial and production and has gone on to use the latter in roles with the Australian Literary Review and in custom publishing.
